My students need new high quality computer headphones to use daily. Our school utilizes reading and math computer programs as part of our core curriculum. Reading programs allow them to listen to reading passages at their level, as well as participate in phonics programs. Math computer programs will read the question to them, develop higher level thinking skills, as well as provide conceptual practice. My students need new headphones so they can focus on their computer work this next school year. I would like to be able to provide our students with quality headphones that will last more than one school year. Because students work independently on the computer daily, headphones are provided. Unfortunately, most of them end up being broken within the first couple of months of school. Working headphones allow them to concentrate on their tasks with limited distractions. This helps to create a quieter environment for all to learn and succeed, whether on the computer or in small group with the teacher.   By providing my class with new, quality sets of headphones, my students will be able to maximize their use of computer and independent work time. It will also help reduce the anxiety my students may begin to feel when their headphones are not working. There are so many great educational apps that we will be able to use. Since my students are still learning English, having headphones will help them hear the language and better develop their language skills. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
