Keeping the beat along with learning ostinati (rhythms that repeat) are of most importance during our instrumental part of the lesson. These components are essential in keeping a song going!! At the moment, I only have one tubano drum that I use most of the time.(I have had to borrow some from another district for one of our performances.) Right now my kids use upside down paint buckets. The kids enjoy taking turns creating on mine but would enjoy using their own true drum. The timber of the paint bucket doesn’t change much but the tubano drum does. Please help us create more music.
