We try to celebrate reading every day in our classroom. My students are so excited by new books and can't wait to get their hands on them! These books will foster a love of reading and help students to know that they are represented and valued at school. By adding to our library and organizing it with book bins, students will spend more time engaged in amazing stories that will inspire and motivate them. These stories will also teach and encourage conversations about perseverance, empathy, and kindness. The rug will be used as another option for comfortable seating while reading, and the whiteboard markers will be used to engage students in reading responses. They will be taking notes and making connections while they read, there's no better tool for them than their own whiteboard and marker!
