We are a title 1 school. Many of our students are from low-income families. They often lack experiences that help them be come the most productive citizens they can be. We plan activities to help these students have hands-on activities that help develop their self-help skills and their reading, writing and math skills as well. The students benefit from working together as a class, in small groups and sometimes one to one with the teacher. They become creative thinkers using problem solving skills while involved in the hands-on activities. They discuss problems and steps to solving the problems involved in the activity. They read to find information to help our activities be as productive as possible. Then write and share about their experiences.
