The driving idea behind requesting these items is to provide the students of Alice Drive Middle School a trusted source of math education outside of the four walls of our classrooms. Many times our students will access math education videos they find on the Internet. Within itself, this is not a bad strategy for students, but oftentimes many of these videos do not cover the necessary standards, are not presented in a way they will see on assignments in class, or state tests, or are not correct in terms of mathematical processes. With this technology five teachers will be provided the necessary technology to provide students in grades six through eight with the tools they need to, in conjunction with pre-existing classroom technology, to create dynamic screencasts (voice, screen dictations, etc.) for our Google Classrooms. However five teachers will have the technology housed in their classroom, the microphones will be shared among the entire math department at Alice Drive Middle, further extending the impact of this project.
