My students are 9th and 10th grade American History students that are very creative and have a passion to learn. They are very energetic and are fun to work with. The students attend a public high school that in the past year has seen a 10% across the board cut which has meant we all have had to learn to do more with less. The Social Studies program was fortunate however as we were in our adoption year and with the saving measures taken we were still able to move forward with our paperless objective so we decided instead of buying new texts we would get a class set of Macintosh computers. This was our first step. We have begun to take our second step with having our students turn in homework through email, word documents and google documents. We are planning to add blogging and class Internet sites as another option. The students have done a great job so far and it has been a positive experience for all of us. We look forward to learning new ways to support a paperless class.
