In a small, rural school, we don't have all of the resources yet to provide 1-1 technology to our students. My second graders can use Chromebooks in our classroom to research animals for our Animal Project, read books via online reading sites, record themselves reading a poem, or simply play a fun review game. My students can utilize computers and coding robots to expand their knowledge and curiosity of topics learned in second grade as well as learn basic computer/coding skills. We always hear that technology is the future. While some of my students will go on to pursue many different careers, I already see future software programmers, IT managers, web developers, or robotic engineers. By providing more technology to my students, I aim to encourage those big dreams and fulfill their curiosity.
