What does it mean to be a hidden figure? We will read Hidden Figures YRE by Margot Lee Shetterly. We will also explore what was going on during the time in the world, "from World War II through NASA's golden age." Prominent movements highlighted include the Civil Rights era, the Space Race, and the fight for gender equality. We will incorporate hands-on STEM activities, such as creating wind vehicles and conduct paper airplane experiments. Students will practice their analytical and mathematical skills. The goal is to inspire all students to use their strengths despite challenges.
