Our students lack the resources to truly practice self care through personal hygiene. They are in the stage of life where their bodies are changing and they are starting to notice these changes. It can prove to be very distracting to students when they come to school with body odor and other basic hygiene issues. They can get teased and that results in lower self-esteem. This can turn into students not wanting to put forth their best effort simply because their families do not have the income to provide basic necessities. These basic hygiene supplies will allow our students the opportunity to learn how to take care of their changing bodies. These items will allow them to come to school clean and feeling confident in themselves which will translate into their learning. Having their own products will give them a sense of pride and strengthen their self-esteem. A confident child is a confident learner!
