My Transitional Kindergarten (TK) students are 4-5 years old. Our TK is a full-year, full-day program designed to prepare the students socially and emotionally to be ready to succeed in kindergarten. For many this is their first experience in a school setting. They attend a Title 1 school where over 90% of the students are second language learners and comes from a socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. 95% of my students receive free or reduce breakfast and lunch. Strong early intervention is critical to their future success in school. My students are very energetic and super happy to learn....they learn best for doing and having hands-on activities and I enjoy providing those types of activities for them.
