My students love books and frequently search our classroom library for their favorites. Once a book is selected, students love to sit on a soft carpet or beanbag as they explore the literary world. Our classroom library is heavily used during our morning routine, literacy centers, and choice time. In order to support all my students with their reading, I want the library to be easy to use and have plenty of cozy seating. Even the most reluctant reader can be enticed by a cozy space and good story. The charcoal carpet and soft seats will provide plenty of space for a small group to get comfortable. When they have finished reading, the storage basket will hold the little seats until their next use. As these emerging readers are searching for books, it is essential that they are organized in a clear (and durable) way. The laminating pouches will allow me to laminate the book bin labels. Each label will have a visual, so students can easily go to a genre that interests them most. The avery labels will be printed with the corresponding visual from the bin and used to label each book. Books will be returned to the correct bin and students will be able to find them time and time again.
