Science is about exploring the world around us. Rachel Carson spoke of the "sense of wonder" in looking at the world through a child's eyes. Inspiring a sense of wonder in my students to engage them in new ways aligned with NGSS will benefit my students. My students attend a grades 9-12 high school in an urban district that serves a diverse population. Many students in my school are classified as in need of free/reduced lunch. However, my students are eager to learn, expand their knowledge on many topics, and perform their best in the classroom, in the community, and on all assessments. Even though my school allows students to bring their own devices, many students do not have technology devices. Students are excited by science and would like to learn more about science as scientists. These students would benefit from using technology to research, benefits that could be spread across curricular areas.
