Many of the materials I have requested such as books, CDs, and games will be used in individual as well as group therapy and counseling. These items will stress cultural diversity and mental wellness. Some of the items may be used in whole class settings to create awareness of such issues, to reduce stigma, and to foster acceptance among classmates. Mental wellness plays a role in every facet of a student's life from social interactions to educational excellence. These items will help me to give students, teachers, and parents the tools and skills children need to be successful in everyday life leading to a happier, healthier student body that is ready to learn from its educators.
