In the heart of Brooklyn, at public school PS 261, we are a diverse 5th grade learning community. With family backgrounds stretching across the world from Australia to Brazil, Ireland and Barbados, we utilize our diversity to create an open minded learning environment. PS 261 is an elementary school in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn where children develop a love for learning in a nurturing and enriched educational environment. Our school promotes learning through student based inquiry, discussion and project based learning. We are equally concerned about young people's social and emotional development. The independence acquired as problem solvers in their studies is also encouraged in their personal and social lives.
