The possibilities are endless with the help of your donation! I have taught kindergarten the last two years, but am now moving to pre-k in a new district. After going through what is already supplied in the class and what the school/district will help supply, I am still very limited on tools. I teach at a Title I school and many of my parents and families are unable to buy basic supplies for their children. This often results in me buying some basic supplies, leaving not much more room for the purchase of materials that are engaging, hands-on, and support classroom instruction. In our class, we need materials that will help support the daily instruction of all students. For example, the post it easel pads will allow us to co-create anchor charts and then hang them up around our room. Along with this, each student will will have the opportunity to be engaged in lessons with the help of a personal white board and marker. Students will be able to interact with these when practicing writing letters, their names, numbers, during math, and more. The dry erase markers will also help with easy erasing. With the magnetic letters, students will be able to practice identifying letters, letter sounds, and spelling their name. Each student will have a bag with the letters in their name and will interact with name activities on a daily basis. Lastly, students will also be encouraged to read in our classroom library as a center. In this center, students will "read" stories to themselves with the help of the "hear myself sound phones." Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and its students. All of the materials donated will be able to serve a total of 30 students and can be used again each year.
