Our school has wonderful outdoor classroom with benches in the woods, an open field, a little brook, and a wetland. I want to take my 2nd grade science students outside in the winter, but not all of them have the snow pants or boots necessary for the snow we get in New England! Our school is lucky to have enough snowshoes for a class of students, but if my 3rd graders don't all have snow boots and pants, then they can't go outside to explore and play, and it's just not fair that some can go out but not others.
