The first question students have to answer when they come in the classroom is "Where will I learn best today?" My goal is to provide more options for students to choose from and teach them how to find what works best for them. All of these spaces have been chosen with my students in mind. By contributing to these learners' flexible seating, you will not only help to improve their focus throughout the day, but you will make our classroom a place they love stepping foot in each day. They will be provided voice and choice in how and where they learn. Some of these choices will include cozying up on a cushion in the reading and STEM corner or sitting high at a coffee-shop style table. Wobble stools will allow my active learners to maintain focus with continuous movement. When I started my career, students were given assigned seats at desks. As an adult, I rarely feel inspired to do my best work at a small desk in a plastic chair. Students need the same opportunity to feel inspired on a daily basis.
