My most expensive items come from needing the resources to create an inviting classroom environment. Specifically having a rolling presentation stand will allow me to set my computer not on a students desk and being able to walk around the classroom rather than standing in one spot. Having anchor charts and visuals around the classroom aid in my students learning of complex topics in science. One example is having the materials to create a word wall for my English Language Learners and sentence stems to push students to speak scholarly. Having markers, colored pencils, laminator, etc will allow me to create this experience. I have requested a chair because this will be a spot in my classroom where my students can cool down or have as an incentive to learn in their personal cozy chair. A comfortable and student friendly classroom is essential for an inviting learning environment! Having the resources to create such an environment is essential to a fun, positive learning atmosphere and experience. It also creates a space in which all students can work on organization and responsibility as each student has a student job to help keep the classroom environment clean and safe.
