Claughton Middle School is a public middle school located 20 miles north of downtown Houston. We are appreciative to have a diverse student population and I have the responsibility of educating 120 eighth grade students this academic year. Roughly 20% of my students receive services under IDEA/SPED and another 25% receive language services under our LEP (Limited English Proficiency) program. The diversity in classroom is indication of different learning styles to accommodate, however with the limited resources I can only provide accommodations for select few of learning styles. Life as an eighth grade student at Claughton Middle School can be difficult without the proper resources of technology and life skills, which is why with your support I can design a classroom environment that is a safe space for students to express their creativity, share their ideas, and develop a sense of self belonging in today's society.
