About my class

A quote by Alfred Mercer states, "What we learn with pleasure we never forget." Learning is indeed serious play! I want to provide my students with lots of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning materials that will give them the enjoyment of creativity, imagination, deep thinking and a love of learning. First graders LOVE to build, create, explore, design, wonder and imagine! When I witness this in my classroom, I imagine future architects, scientists, builders, software developers and much more. I have seen the power of play in my classroom with the few creative construction and play materials I have. I am hopeful that others will join my effort in providing more of these materials to inspire kids to build and create extraordinary things. My students are always so excited when introduced to new materials to our classroom, and I know they will want to join me in thanking you for any donation that will enrich our classroom learning and serious play.
