Many of these books have been requested by students and either we do not have them in our school library, or we only have one copy that must be shared by 1,300 students. My plan is to have these targeted books in my classroom library to share with more reluctant readers. My focus has been to target African-American males in particular, and find reading material that will specifically appeal to many of them. However, I also have trouble with other boys reading. Many of these books are targeted to appeal to a young male sensibility, hence so many copies of American Sniper.
