Most people like fairy tales, right? Especially the ones that end “happily ever after!” Right now, our “happily ever after” lies with having a new touchscreen laptop. Here is our story…. Once upon a time, there was a 2nd class who wished for a touchscreen laptop. However, there were no funds readily available at the time. A few outdated, slow computers sit in the classroom; however, a new touchscreen laptop and mouse could help meet their needs and would be a great ending to the story. Without a doubt, this laptop would be used to enhance reading, language, math, social studies and science lessons. The new computer would be used in centers daily. An example of rotating reading centers would work like this. Divided into several groups, one group would work with the teacher during guided reading, while another center would involve a writing session and yet another would work on “hands-on” phonics interactive games. The computer center with this new laptop would be designated to help students with comprehension passages and a review of phonics lessons for that day. All components of the rotation would have students working hard using multiple resources to master each skill targeted. Once upon a time, there was a 2nd-grade class who wished for a new laptop and mouse to help enhance lessons. They can use your help! How does it end? They are not sure yet, but all are hoping for a special ending. Would you consider helping for this 2nd grade class have a fairy tale ending with a new laptop?
