My students are visual scientists, and just like a scientist they need to experiment and document. These lay flat visual sketchbooks/journals will provide my AP artists a place to log their trials and triumphs. We will use these journals at least once a week as we work through a variety of experiential work sessions both in studio and outside. Often the questions are more important than the answers, these journals will help students find innovative solutions to their sustained-investigation questions. As I tell my students frequently, in a society that values "product", why can't the digging, scratching, searching for answers be the product? Process over Product.
