I have been teaching for 18 years at the same school, which is in a low-income, urban setting. My Second Graders are eager learners who want to succeed and please their teacher. With the academic rigor that is required of them, it is imperative that they are organized and responsible students. When my students pack their book bags at school and at home, it is too easy to leave something out. Or parents would say that they never received a notice or note that was sent home. I am hoping this binder system will help the student stay organized by providing a specific labeled location for everything in one place. Not only do I want my students' organizational skills to improve but I hope this will also help with communicating with their families at home.
