“Struggle is my address, where pain and crack lives,…Born on the Black list, told I’m below average.” –From “A Dream” by Common I teach eleventh and twelfth grade English at a high school where 80% of our students qualify for the free-reduced national food program and 60% are involved with the Department of Children and Families. The charter school was founded for students who have struggled in traditional school environments. Our students come to our school because they have been unable to find success in their prior educational experience. We pride ourselves on our ability and willingness to reach out to our students and guide them on their pathway toward educational success.
