It has been one of the "Schools to Watch", and a California Distinguished School as well. The predominant ethnicities are 58% Hispanic/Latino, 20% White, 8% African American, 8% Asian, and 6% Filipino. It is a Title 1 school; 61% participate in Free/Reduced Lunch, and 16% are English Learners.
