Our students are enthusiastic learners committed to building a strong community within their school. Student-led groups that seek to end bullying and promote cultural awareness include students from all grades and backgrounds. This is my first year at Lighthouse, and there has not been a solid art program in the middle and high school here for many years. Lighthouse includes an elementary school for K-6 as well as a 7th-12th grade College Prep Academy. The elementary art teacher, Mrs. Dale, is incredible, and I seek to carry on her legacy as students move up through their middle and high school education. In order to provide the best and most authentic art-making experience for these amazing students, it is crucial that I make the art room a reliable resource.
