My students LOVE to read. Unfortunately, our current book collection is out-of-date and in poor condition. Not only does this discourage learning, it an issue of dignity to use well-cared-for materials in a learning environment. With high quality books, my students will have access to the materials they need to reach their learning goals and become thoughtful, informed citizens. The set of books in this project are at many different reading levels so every student will have what they need. In 2nd grade, students spend time everyday reading independently. They rely on classroom book sets to have rich reading materials. With this project, I will be able to ensure all my students have the materials they need to become top-notch readers.
