All educators understand that reading is the key to success, both in school and out. The more students read; the better readers they become. Students are more likely to read when they enjoy what they are reading. Expanding my classroom library with diverse, high-interest books will enable my students to find something that they enjoy reading during independent reading time. I picked out books that would appeal to the many interests of my students. Long Shot, Unstoppable, and Rising Above will appeal to those who like to read about sports. Series like Alex Rider, Hatchet, and Harry Potter will captivate students who enjoy adventure. Choose your own ending books lure in reluctant readers. My students will treat each book with love and care. With my selection of books, they will become better readers, and best of all, they will love reading.
