Having technology is one of the best ways to bring the outside world inside my classroom. Students today are visual, hands-on learners with a wonderful curiosity. In my class, we love to explore the world using Google Maps, play interactive science games, challenge each other on Quizlet Live and many other fun activities. In order for us to do many of these activities, students must bring their own device from home. A handful of students in each class do not have access to technology, some due to economic hardships, continuing recovery from Hurricane Harvey, or other family setbacks. Having these iPads would allow my students who do not have their own device to be able to explore, grow and play along with the students who do. My goal is to empower all students toward growth and success in my classroom by helping to insure all students have equal accessibility to the technology needed.
