As a Special Education teacher, I have always felt that we should focus on a child strengths, more than weaknesses. Find what is positive and how they learn and work it. In reading articles on iPads with SPED children, this device seems to be a positive thing in a classroom. As a Special Education teacher, I am always working to push students to their utmost potential. The majority of students learn well with technology devices. With an iPad in my classroom, this would allow every student I work with, experience the power of an iPad and the wonderful apps online. Our school set up an iPad website with apps for parents, teachers and students a few years ago. Many of those are free. I know my students would love to work with these in reading, math, social studies and science. With an iPad, I could use it in centers, as well as in whole groups connected to my projector or whiteboard.
