As a low income school, most of my students do not have access to computers and technology at home. A Chromebook is an easy, kid-friendly way to integrate technology into the classroom. These Chromebooks will enhance their learning and allow them to grow into well rounded 21st century citizens! My students will be engaged and eager to learn from a Chromebook. The Chromebook can be used to take virtual field trips to the Getty or explore the ocean. They can be used for guiding reading and language arts activities. There are also a variety of fun websites to engage the children and help them with addition, subtraction and other math concepts. Students learn through repetition and learn in a variety of ways. Chromebooks are a great addition to the classroom because they provide a different means of learning concepts and practicing what they have learned. While a group of students is using the Chromebooks, I will be able to focus my attention and teach small group lessons. My ultimate goal is to build to a 1 to 1 ratio of computers to students so that we can complete full classroom group lessons in addition to small group activities.
