At our school, all fifth graders participate in the 40 Book Challenge, which runs from August to May. During the challenge, students must not only read 40 books, but these books must be from a variety of genres, including informational, autobiography, biography, poetry, mystery, fantasy, historical fiction, and realistic fiction. As part of the challenge, students learn how to pick books that match their reading interests and abilities. The challenge also helps students build their reading stamina and love for literature! The books and materials in this project will help increase student access to award-winning literature with diverse characters and content.

About my class
