Many skills are developed in the algebra classroom that are needed to be successful in college and future careers. Collaborative learning allows students to not only learn from each other but promotes students to problem solve together. Students are engaged in algebraic reasoned conversations. Students are able to justify conclusions with each other. This skill of teamwork backed by sound mathematical reasoning is important to take students beyond the minimum requirements of success. Having flexible seating will allow my students to work together and learn from each otherin the classroom. The sofa and lounge chairs with side tables for writing will give my students opportunities to make their own choice for what works best for them.
