My 7th grade EC students have collaborated and discussed what they need in my classroom to help them be successful in school. Once they get to my classroom they have already spent 6 hours trying to sit still in a desk and focus. For many students with attention problems this can be torture. The most active students are often in trouble for the inability to sit in a standard desk without moving or getting up out of their desk too often. Daily, these students come into our classroom with unfinished work and work they do not understand because they had a hard time focusing in class. I want to create a space that is theirs. A space where they can each find the best seating that will help them to focus, learn and catch up for the day. These adjustable stools are a great start to the environment we are trying to create as a group.
