My students attend a large urban high school in Illinois where almost 90% of students are low-income and qualify for free lunch. The school building is a historical landmark. Although beauty often comes with age, well-equipped science classrooms do not often follow that same trend. My students are eager to see chemistry in action and ask for lab experiments, but labs cannot be safely performed on tablet desks with slanted surfaces.
