By donating to this project, you are giving each of these students their own copy of a book of 52 powerful black heroes to read at their own pace, that will inspire and empower them, and remind them that even a rose can grow in the concrete. With Young, Gifted, and Black, they will challenge themselves to think beyond these few blocks of this neighborhood, to think beyond a low-paying job and just getting by, to think beyond just surviving and start aspiring. All success in life begins with believing in yourself, and with your help, we can empower twenty young, smart children that they can accomplish anything they put their mind to, no matter where they began.
