I teach English to 10th and 12th graders in Virginia Beach. My 10th grade class is a part of the an academy program that was just started two years ago. These students come from all over the school district to attend the academy. 32% of our students are free and reduced lunch at Kempsville while 34% of the student body participates in AP testing. I teach 5 classes- my largest has 33 seniors. My class allows for many collaboration opportunities, and I am continually surprised by the creative and innovative ideas presented by my students.
