The lab supplies requested are the basic supplies needed to provide students with an opportunity to explore microbiology in a safe and hands-on way. My students will be able to clearly identify bacteria based on shape, size, clustering, and Gram-stain results. They will also be able to visualize the importance of proper hygiene like hand washing and how bacteria can impact the health of individuals especially those working in health care. I feel like this is especially important in today’s society with the current global health crisis of COVID-19. My goal is for my students to not only understand science but to be able to apply it to their everyday lives for the betterment of all.
