We all learn when we are comfortable. In our classroom, many students have difficulty staying in one position for an extended time. With different seating options available, students will be able to choose the one that works best for them. Having a rug to sit on will help the students be able to focus better when we meet as a whole class during our mini-lessons. The seat cushions that I am requesting will help my students be able to get their wiggles out while still being able to attend to their work. My students have often asked to be able to sit in something other than the traditional chairs that are provided at school and are then able to better focus. By funding this project, you will help create an environment conducive to my students' physical needs that will also encourage their stamina in their educational pursuits. In allowing them to make the decisions of how and where to sit, not only are their physical needs being met but the knowledge of how to make positive personal decisions is being fostered. Students will then recognize the positive effects of their choices.
