We are short on this amazing classroom tool. We will start using these iPads as soon as we get these! My little ones love to use the iPad to listen to stories read aloud by using QR codes to easily access thousands of books. We also reinforce alphabet learning, sight words, math concepts and fine motor practice with this tool. I do not intend to replace hands-on learning with this technology, rather supplement their independent time with focused tasks. Kindergartners need constant engagement and change of activities, so iPads will help add to our full experience! We thank you for considering this project to bring successful independent learning to five and six year olds, while I am teaching in small groups to others. They will have the chance to choose stories to listen to while they are learning to read them themselves. They will be invited to relax on the rug or in a bean bag chair and practice number and letter concepts they have learned. iPads will be used to create videos of student learning to share with families. We can facetime with authors, join other classes in discussions, and more. The possibilities are endless!
