This donation of various family board games will directly impact 2 fourth grade classes of 44 students and their families who are of high poverty. Of the 44 students, 22 are learning English as a second language. The other 50% of the students are diagnosed as having learning disabilities. These challenges definitely make learning more difficult for these students. The majority of these students (98%) qualify for free lunch services due to the family income being below poverty level. Many of these students are multiracial, African-American, or Asian. Most of the students in this group are from single parent homes. A high percentage of these students have a parent in jail. A few are in the Florida Foster Care system and are considered "homeless."
