Our school has a diverse mix of students from all socioeconomic groups. The one common denominator is that the majority of my students love to read. And the ones that say they don't love reading just haven't found the perfect book yet. It is my goal to have every student find a book they identify with so they can begin that reading relationship that will stay with them for a lifetime. We have a certain demographic of students that don't have access to books at home, so they depend on library books. As our student population grows and changes, so should our library collection. Our goal is to have every child become a lifelong reader. Developing readers is even in our school plan, so every teacher and staff member is committed to helping and guiding students in their reading efforts.
