The school district that I teach in is a medium size, city school in Ohio. There are approximately 20-25 students per classroom teacher. We are rated an effective school district. It is a low income area about 60% poverty. Many families are unemployed due to Delphi and General Motors layoffs and plant closings. Many of the families in the district dependent on any government aide that is available.
