My students are 7th graders in a low income area of Los Angeles. They are struggling readers and writers who are aiming toward proficiency on the state tests. Like many middle school kids, they have issues with self image, friendships, family problems, and finding how they fit in this world. 70% are from homes where a language other than English is primary. They are full of life and questions and deserve all that we can offer them.

About my class
