During the 2009-2010 school year our elementary school had 680 students. Of these students, 458 of these students participated in Free and Reduced Lunch, and 186 students were English Language Learners. (ELL) In addition, out of the 333 students that were tested in English Language Arts portion of ISTEP, only 68.2% passed. Our school has performed below state standards on the literacy portion of ISTEP for two consecutive years placing our school on AYP. It is imperative that we provide our students with opportunities to improve their literacy skills.

About my class
