“Ouch” is a word that is extremely common in my line of work. As a fitness teacher, I hear it multiple times a day. In fact, just today while stretching, a Kindergartener fell and bumped her head. She had no idea it was coming! Ouch! Our school is in an urban environment and we serve our local community. We have 244 Pre-Kindergarten through eighth graders who come from various, ethnic, racial and economic backgrounds. Our school has received awards for being one of the top charter schools in our city. As a Title One school with over 50% of our students on free and reduced lunch, we strive to give opportunities to our students that they would not have otherwise.
