My students are 6,7 and 8 year olds from an impoverished area. 4 of my students are classified as migrant, meaning their families travel for work depending on the crop season. These students leave school in May and often do not return again until October. 17 out of my 18 students are on free lunch. 15 of them are in the ESOL program. Of those 15, most are limited English with the majority speaking Spanish in their home. My students love learning and are eager to improve their reading skills.
