Watching a silent movie is fun, but the excitement comes when you hear the crash and the rumble and the bang. Likewise, watching a play is great but it becomes a masterpiece when the sound effects are added. This project will help the students develop the skills needed to become foley artists and create sound effects for their productions. The instruments chosen are those used by master sound engineers to create strong emphasis to movement. The variety of instruments allows the students to experiment with their creativity to design interesting and authentic sound augmentation. Many of the skills developed in this unit will lead the students to become career ready to enter the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) industry as sound designers, foley engineers, and foley artists.
