I am a teacher in my second year in a first grade at an urban, high poverty school where supplies are very limited. Having a space to put books would help them out and keep the books organized. Adding the level books will help the students who are struggling to read, feel more successful when they are reading. This would add to our book nook area and give them a little extra seating when we are “reading” around the room. My students love to read, and giving them more materials to read will make it more enjoyable too. We do a lot of read to self and read to partner, and this makes them excited to share new material.
